What is the “临”?

The Mandarin notation is “临”.Japanese kanji character “臨”. Four tones and Pinyin is Lín.   
“臨海”near the sea, “臨席”attend, “臨界温度”critical temperature, etc. are common as Japanese kanji. However, in Japanese kanji, combinations like”降临”, “临场”, and “濒临”,are not common. Now, let’s look at some example sentences for “临”.

Example sentences with “临”.

It is used for “降临”, “临场”,and “濒临” , etc. ① “降临”(Jiàng lín) means to come or visit. 夜幕降临It’s getting dark. ② “临场” (Lín chǎng) means to face the place, to be present, to face the performance. ③ “濒临” (Bīn lín) means to touch or approach. 濒临倒闭 is imminent if it goes bankrupt. 濒临大海 means approaching the sea.
