“团” is a simplified Chinese notation. In Japanese kanji, it is “団”, and in traditional Chinese notation it is “團”.

What is the “团”?

The difference between the Japanese kanji character ”団” and Mandarin Chinese ”团” is whether or not a quantifier is included. The meaning is given below. It’s easy to imagine 团子、团員, but it’s a little more difficult to imagine 団拜. It means to gather with work colleagues and parties to celebrate the Spring Festival.
